Sedation Dentistry

At Rolling Hills Dentistry, we want all our patients to feel comfortable and relaxed while we care for their smiles. However, if you have anxiety when going to the dentist, this can be difficult to achieve even in our comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. To aid our patients with anxiety during dental treatments, we offer sedation dentistry. Enjoy the benefits of relaxing while we take care of your oral health and beautiful smile.

Oral Conscious Sedation

One option we offer for our patients that are anxious during dental appointments is oral conscious sedation. This method uses calming medications that you take orally before your appointment to put you into a relaxed state. While you will be conscious during your treatment, you will be completely relaxed and feel stress-free while we complete your dental work. This is a good option for those with moderate to severe dental anxiety or for those that have trouble sitting still for long dental treatments. Patients may need a driver to bring them to and from their appointment due to the level of sedation.

Nitrous Oxide

For those with mild to moderate anxiety, nitrous oxide can be a good solution for relaxation during their dental appointments. Referred to as laughing gas, nitrous oxide offers a mild sedative effect from a gas that is breathed in through a mask placed over the nose. You will be completely awake and aware, but you will be in a euphoric state that helps you stay calm and relaxed during your treatment. Nitrous oxide is safe and can be used for children that need treatments that may cause them anxiety. The effects wear off as soon as you take a few breaths of fresh air, making it safe to drive after your appointment.

We want you to be as comfortable as possible when you come to our office in Danbury. We have comfort amenities like flat screen TVs and music in the treatment rooms, but if you need additional help relaxing, ask about our sedation options.
